The basics

How to play SPEEDROT

Every game lasts about five seconds and shouts one command. Do what it says, keep your brain cells, and see how far you get as it all speeds up.

Free · No download · Works on phones, tablets and computers

1. Do what it says

Each game starts with a command like DODGE!, SLICE! or POUR!, a title, and a hint that shows what to do. Then you have about five seconds. There are 28 kinds of games and you will meet all of them.

2. Keep your brain cells

You start a Rot Run with four brain cells. Win a game and you keep them all. Fail and one dies, dramatically. When the last one goes, the run is over and you see how many games you cleared.

3. Survive the speed

Every five wins the speed goes up. Every 15th game is a boss fight: Titan, Tug of War or Bullet Hell.

Ways to play

Leveling up

Playing earns XP and aura. Levels unlock rewards, and the free Rot Pass gives two rewards per tier: brain skins, trails and titles. Your lifetime aura sets your rank, from NPC all the way to Main Character. Three daily quests, day streaks and 16 trophies keep things fresh, and your Brain Scan rates you in six skills: Reflex, Aim, Timing, Brain, Control and Stamina. Aura only comes from playing. Nothing is for sale.

Replays and clips

Every run is recorded. Watch any run back at half to double speed, and save your best moment as a video clip or a share card.

Settings

In the Me tab you can pick the announcer (Hype, Italiano, Robot or off), turn the beat and sound effects on or off, lower the visual effects, reduce motion, turn off vibration, and switch results to a colorblind-friendly palette.

Tips

  1. Read the command before you move. Half of all losses are doing the wrong thing fast.
  2. Keep your thumb near the middle of the screen.
  3. Practice the games that beat you most. Your Rotdex shows which ones they are.
